Greater St. Mark

Born to Mr. & Mrs. Walton Bain in July 1961, as a second child among twelve siblings, Sidney worked alongside his father in their family owned business until his father passed away. Together, they designed and built some of the most beautiful homes on the Island of New Providence in the Bahamas. Sidney graduated from high school at age 16! Always aspiring and striving for bigger and better things, Sidney became a Customs Agent in the Bahamas and worked in that profession for almost 12 years until relocating his family to begin his studies at Southeastern Bible College, now called Southeastern University, Lakeland Florida.

He began his teaching career with the Polk County School Board in August of 1996 after completing his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education with a concentration in Mathematics. About four years later Sidney matriculated at Nova Southeastern University in Tampa. After a year and a half, he obtained his master's in educational leadership with K through 12 certifications. Still believing the sky is the limit, Sidney continued his studies matriculating at Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmington, Kentucky, via the Dunham Campus located in beautiful Orlando, Florida. On May 16th, 2015 Sidney's persistence paid off, and he graduated with his Master of Divinity.

Married for 37 years to his lovely wife Ruth, he is the father of two accomplished and proud daughters; Shakeliah who is a nurse and Sherien, a mathematics instructor like her father. He is elated to Pastor Greater St. Mark African Methodist Episcopal Church, in the Lively Lakeland District where the Presiding Elder is Reverend Jimmy J. Thompson and the Right Reverend Adam Jefferson Richardson, Jr. is the Presiding Prelate.
